will soon be here! The leaves are virtually gone from the trees and the air is becoming crisp. A thick hoar frost can be founds on the leaves, branches and blades of grass early in the morning just before the sun hits them. Some days, it is as if the whole mountain is coated with crystal prisms that sparkle brightly. I bundle up more now. Wearing a scarf and gloves feels good in the early hours. Each circle of the park is a mile and a half and I am aiming for three laps a day at least five days a week. This earns me the 45 minute and the 5-day bonuses in our Million Mile Trek challenge. My miles are adding up and I will definitely be in Orlando by December, completing the 1,000 mile leg of this journey. From there, I will strike out to add enough miles to take me to Los Angeles.
Wishing won’t make it so. Action is called for. Let’s help each other Keep on trekking!!

| While watching TV last night, D.J. Gregory was honored as ABC's person of the week. He is a young man born with cerebral palsy whose parents were told he would never walk. They never gave up hope and reared him with a positive attitude as he went through the needed medical interventions. Despite the odds, he walks with a cane and golfs! Last week, he completed a life goal to walk every hole of every round of the 2008 PGA Golf Tournament... that is 44 tournaments in 45 weeks and over 900 miles! D.J. falls often. He says that is just the way it is. He's learned to get right back up and keep going. If he can go the distance, so can we! I’ve challenged all chapters to join me in my journey. My goal for TOPS® is for us to walk a Million Miles by next IRD. This challenge containing all details was sent to all leaders and is featured in TOPS® News. Other forms of exercise count toward miles earned at thirty minutes = one mile. Certificates will be available to print out as awards for chapter members who add their miles to mine as we chalk up the distance at the end of the challenge. Each chapter walking a thousand miles or more will be entered into a drawing at headquarters and five will be selected to receive $100.00. There will also be a prize for the member and the chapter who accumulates the most miles.
